The communities of the North Platte Valley take pride in their rural charm
The most successful community projects grow out of community engagement. A community needs to grow together in a unified direction and that cannot be accomplished without conversations and participation from the diverse and varied interests in the valley. The power of the people is mighty. When aligned to accomplish a goal, great things can happen.
Rural communities are either growing or dying. If we want to provide a vibrant and ganguing community for citizens of all ages, we need to provide spaces that emotionally engage and connect.
We live in a nation with a highly transient population. People are searching for authentic interactions in interesting spaces. We want our communities to be fun, clean, aesthetic, interactive and inviting.
A place is more than the physical spaces. The intangible events, groups, gatherings, ethics, and culture create the depth and vibrancy. Celebrations, festivals, summer camps and hiking clubs serve as the glue that bonds the people together.
Sometimes dreams are so big, we need to get multiple organizations on board so that big things can happen. It takes a lot of coordination to collaborate on a large scale, but it all starts with a single conversation.
Valley Spark was established in 2022 by a group of concerned citizen that were tired of waiting for someone else to get the job done. They saw a disconnect among the community municipalities, local non-profits and grant money. There was no shortage of ideas for improving the quality of live in the “Good Times Valley”, but there seemed to be very little support in making those dreams become a reality.
Valley Spark was founded with the intent to become a community catalyst, connecting people with ideas to people with funding. In small communities, the burden of activism is shouldered by a small percentage of the population which results in a high burnout rate of the motivated few. Valley Spark’s intention is to build a support network for the people with dreams, so that more ideas can come to fruition.
